Why Kaeros

Why Kaeros?

In today’s financial world, there are numerous debt capital sources available to Canadian businesses to acquire, grow and invest. These include banks, credit unions, mezzanine and subordinated debt lenders, private and venture debt lenders, among others. Given the current economic environment, institutions behind these capital sources are experiencing tighter credit conditions, lower risk tolerances and narrowing sector preferences, making the task of obtaining financing at favorable terms, more time consuming than ever.

Thus, the challenge and our primary objective, is connecting your company with our vast network of capital providers across North America.

Ultimately, this frees up your time to focus on more important tasks like running your company.

About the founder - Trevor C. Palmquist

Trevor has over 19 years experience in the financial markets, including time spent working in private equity, equity research and corporate banking. He began his career in the Canadian oil patch, working for Arc Financial, one of Calgary’s top boutique private equity firms, following which he worked for Tristone Capital as an equity analyst covering fifteen junior E&P companies in Canada.  In 2005, he joined Nexen, at the time Canada’s fourth largest integrated E&P company, working in their crude oil trading operations department, managing the companies risk exposure across its London and Singapore crude portfolios.

In 2007, he moved to Vancouver where he worked for nearly six years as a senior commercial lender at one of Canada’s largest banks. In that capacity, he originated and structured over two hundred mid-market debt capital deals, specializing in corporate M&A and cash flow transactions. This success led to his promotion as Vice President Commercial Banking, where he was responsible for a team of twelve lenders, managing a portfolio of nearly $440 million.

Finally, in 2015 Trevor moved to Toronto to work in BMO Corporate Finance’s specialty media lending group, where he was responsible for originating, structuring and syndicating senior debt transactions for many of Canada’s largest and most successful media companies, with lending needs between $5 and $500 million.

In 2018, Trevor moved back to Vancouver with his family whereupon he founded Kaeros Capital.

He currently lives in Kelowna, B.C.
